In an effort to focus her business on the luxury home market, Maria Lund joined Lakes Sotheby’s in 2014. After managing her own brokerage and financial group from 2007-2011—Compass Realty Group & Compass Financial—she joined Re/Max and was awarded the Executive Club Award multiple times in recognition of her work as an outstanding agent. Maria studied at Arizona State and Florida International with a focus on International Business, and uses this background to work with clients from around the world.
Maria has specialized in REO, Short Sale and Distressed Property transactions, including Estate and Bankruptcy Sales. She is a Certified Investor Agent Specialist (CIAS), Certified Distressed Property Expert (CDPE) and Certified Relocation Counselor. These specializations have made her a well-rounded real estate agent, capable of managing any type of transaction. She additionally stays up-to-date on the latest technology, and uses tools like QR codes and cloud based reporting on neighborhoods and properties to keep herself and her clients informed. Now aiming her focus toward upper bracket and buyers, Maria guarantees her clients will benefit from her experience with complex transactions, her technology training and marketing techniques. She is a hard worker, enjoys people, and uses constructive criticism to improve continuously. Her goal is to make her clients’ home sale or home purchase as flawless and pleasant as possible.
Maria is originally from Chile, and speaks Spanish and English fluently. She currently owns a home in Deephaven, Minnesota and enjoys spending time giving clients tours on Lake Minnetonka and sharing the history of the lake. Maria enjoys water activities on Lake Minnetonka like Kiteboarding and Boating, and enjoys pursuits like Tennis and Horseback Riding. Maria was formerly a professional song-writer and recording artist in Los Angeles, and was signed to Sony/Colombia Records after collaborating with several A-List Musicians. As a believer in giving back to the community, Maria participates in the Miracle Home Program with Gillette Children’s Hospital and a portion of her commissions goes toward funding the Children’s Cancer Research Foundation, of which she is additionally a committee member.
